The demo I suffered through in March 2024 made it clear that, if the vertigo/nausea issues for people like me can be solved, "immersive" (read: full-field 3D) VR/AR is the future of video content. Let's see if we get there.

My impression is that vertigo happens when there is a delay between head movement and image motion. I have experienced it, but it is totally absent with the Vision Pro, at any rate with the (few) top-notch immersive videos on the Apple TV website.

I underwent the demo at an Apple Store, so it most certainly was the Vision Pro. (The Vision Pro 2 was scrapped or delayed, so that is the only headset by Apple still.) I didn't find it uncomfortable, as the correct strap was used.

My wife had the opposite experience. No vertigo, but painful weight due to the other strap being used and incorrectly fitted.

Whether you get vertigo/nauseau or not, the 3D effect is stunning.

Try taking Dramamine. According to my son, a light dosage helped him out a strong dosage may put you to sleep.

Anyone else think it ridiculous to need to take medication in order to use what could be everyday tech? Just imagine if you needed to pop a pill every time you wanted to watch a video on your smartphone.

No special IT gadgets freak here but I NEED THIS! I haven't even checked the price point. Maybe that will cool me down.

It is expensive but so is a big screen, etc.

Luca, it sounds like you must 'test drive' the new VR device from Apple (here in the states you can walk in and get a demo) I have heard wonderful stories from 'gamer' friends about its immersive-ness and almost all of them mentioned it gave them vertigo and/or nausea when they over did it at the beginning of the VR session.

Unless I missed a major announcement this is Apple’s VR device…

Ah, I didn't realize that. Thanks for clarifying that!
