Interesting how Jacques Guerlain’s work seems to largely have survived somewhat scathed, but Jean Paul’s catalog alternates between lacking finer nuances and losing the plot entirely. Wonder if this signifies lesser effort having been put into their respective reformulations, or if it really is the best they could do in all circumstances.
My father sometimes uses Habit Rouge as an air freshener in the bathroom. This alternately horrifies or amuses me. Given what Guerlain is doing these days, why not treat it as a functional perfumery?
The last bottle of Mouchoir de Monsieur I bought was so weak I couldn't believe they would sell it. I wonder what Habit Rouge smells like. Wasser said styrax restrictions might kill it.
So glad I have some extra bottles of l’Instant! Wore this as a teen guy to my first gay disco party and when smelling it 17 years later it still brings back the feeling of that night!

Good point. I hadn't noticed the pattern, but you're correct.
