Ooohโฆ these are the most comforting, and elegant, words of wisdom I heard in weeks. Months. Maybe more. I knew I was not wrong calling you โmaestroโ (then I canโt stand Ruade, but never had a maestro I always agreed with). By the way, my one and only personal question. I guess your family name is Italian. Where the accent? (to mention you correctly in conversations) :)
My family name is Valdese (Waldensian) and pronounced as in French, or more exactly Franco-Provenรงal. โCome Torino in Franceseโ. And yes, I am Italian!
As someone who thinks about progress and cultural change a lot, this is a novel perspective. And as a guy going through his midlife crisis โmobilizing lots of (futile?) energy towards nutrition, exercise, and all manner of rejuvenating techniquesโ, itโs kind of unnerving. Iโm used to thinking of complex change (including aging) as a gradual process. Youโve got me to start the week thinking on this flickering, hesitant, electrical-current model. Thanks.
I enjoyed this, being in my mid-40โs and all that that entails. It also made me think of Hemingway going bankrupt gradually and then suddenly.

Never thought of it that way, but I am glad you did. Very inspiring, thank you.
This is so very true! Thank you for putting it so clearly: an inspiration for an not so easy day to come.
Thumbs up
A lovely metaphor indeed! And you finish with beautiful tune. Bravo!
So true.
Beautiful
So well put.
A bit like with a kalรฉidoscope. Your words are clear and food for thought. Merci.
Brilliantly put. I think I've always felt this way without knowing it!
thanks for this
