We can only hope that superleggera signifies the loathsome Allure Homme Sport accord disappears as fast as the ethanol so that the user may promptly recover from the seconds of torment with a generous helping of Mitsouko.
After Dior smashed to pieces Joy from Patou to make their joyless Joy, nothing else surprises me from French Haute perfumery. No, that's not quite right. The French in general can be disarmingly witty at times. A very popular bakery spreading everywhere in Paris is called The French Bastards :)
To my surprise I heard recently that LVMH only bought the Joy name and that Coty, of all craven meretricious people, ended up owning the rest of the Patou brand!
Thereโs only one other time in my life- aside from your post today- that anyone ever referenced an โIsotta Fraschiniโโ and that was in Sunset Boulevard! Thatโs the gigantic vehicle parked in Norma Desmondโs garage.
Fascinating! Our 6 year old son is already a car fanatic and most weeks we take him to some car event or another. Luckily, my husbandโs godfatherโs son repairs antique race cars for a living (what a career!). Our son gets to spend time with him working on old Ferrari, Bugatti, even Aston vehicles. Recently, theyโve been working on a Tyrrell 006. Personally, I am more into horse racing, dressage, etc., but seeing these cars up close, one realizes they are indeed real works of Art (one of the disciplines where Art and Science combine and balance to create greatness).
Your 6 year old likes cars? That is such good news! I thought that species had died out, machines were no longer of interest to children and nobody would ever go vroom! vroom! ever again while pushing some little cast-metal thing on the carpet. AND he spends a time with a guy who is *restoring a Tyrrell 006*? The stars are aligned. Your son will run the world one day.
We are so happy! There has been so much vroom! vroom! Vroom! with Hotwheels around the carpets! Now, we just need to keep him away from video games ๐คฃ
My eldest son is a mechanical engineer and a fanatic of classic cars. He feels sad that he was born 50 years too late to make his passion his profession. He has decided not to work in the automotive industry as he is not interested in electric vehicles.
I wonder whether it will end up like watches: first quartz nearly killed them, and then Swatch was trying to finish mechanical watches off: End result? Patek and Rolex have never done better business.
True! Though the days of the combustion engine are probably counted. Can electric cars ever be beautiful and successfully merge classic design with new technology? BTW, Leggerissima is also the name of a very beautiful chair designed by Gio' Ponti in the 50s. We Italians were masters of design but I feel that this is no longer true these days.
I live next to Silverstone racing circuit and see many great machines go past on track days. I think ICE cars as fun will continue, but in a small way and off public roads.

Yes, I was wondering whether it implied a homeopathic amount of fragrance oil.

Oh God. Why but Why? I wished I had smelled Coty's fragrances before.

Indeed not a household name, though some idiot rebadged Audis as IFs some years ago

Thanks for this.
They had already used this name for a J12 watch model a decade or so ago. https://www.chanel.com/de/uhren/hinweise-und-dienstleistungen/j12/j12-superleggera/

Then treat yourselves and him, take him to https://www.musee-automobile.fr/en/ and enjoy a holiday in France's food heaven.
Thank you! We will definitely visit on our next trip to France. ๐ Many Thanks!
