Last week in Los Angeles I was introduced to a cocktail called Last Word, which I thought was great and rekindled memories of cocktails in Boston years ago. The Last Word is made of equal parts Chartreuse Verte, Maraschino Liqueur, Gin and lime juice. It tastes like Romeo Gigli per Uomo (wormwood, rose and citrus). Wonderful.

wonderful!
My gloss on it from last year:
Green Demon
1 oz gin
1 oz green Chartreuse
Juice of 1 lime
1/2 oz simple syrup
Champagne
Mint sprig
Mix ingredients in shaker, top with mint.
Looks and sounds wonderful. Normally I'd rush out and buy the ingredients for a test run, but I've decided to bug out of Tampa Bay before hurricane Marvin arrives. Who names a hurricane Marvin? Hurricanes don't wear bow ties.
Yeah, cocktails have great names. As a teenager the popular one was called a Harvey Wallbanger, everyone had that ridiculous 2-foot tall bottle of Galiano that was too big for the shelf. I wonder if there are more cocktails or more perfumes in the world?
