Looks and sounds wonderful. Normally I'd rush out and buy the ingredients for a test run, but I've decided to bug out of Tampa Bay before hurricane Marvin arrives. Who names a hurricane Marvin? Hurricanes don't wear bow ties.
Yeah, cocktails have great names. As a teenager the popular one was called a Harvey Wallbanger, everyone had that ridiculous 2-foot tall bottle of Galiano that was too big for the shelf. I wonder if there are more cocktails or more perfumes in the world?
If you liked the Last Word, you have to try a Naked and Famous. It's a complex, smoky fruit punch flavored riff on the Last Word (and Paper Plane). The ingredients are mezcal, yellow Chartreuse, Aperol and lime juice. Like any good fragrance, it feels like an old (or future!) memory/experience that you just can't place.
Romeo Gigli per Uomo was my signature fragrance for several years in the early '90s and I feel like I could absolutely taste this description based on my memories of that exquisite perfume. Thank you for that!
Sounds wonderful! My husband recently brought me a bottle of Maraschino liqueur from a trip to Croatia, ostensibly the country of its origin. I use it mostly to make an Aviation, but The Last Word seems great.
wonderful!
My gloss on it from last year:
Green Demon
1 oz gin
1 oz green Chartreuse
Juice of 1 lime
1/2 oz simple syrup
Champagne
Mint sprig
Mix ingredients in shaker, top with mint.
Aha! Fizz!

Stay safe! Definitely more perfumes…

Thank you! Next on my list. I wish perfume names were as good as cocktail ones.
Excellent!
It’s from my hometown, Detroit, and it’s my favorite cocktail. Sazerac is a close second.
Looking up Sazerac…
There’s a bar near me in Melbourne that specialises in fragrance-matched cocktails.
Name?
It’s Pawn and Co (I think the site used to be a pawn shop) https://www.pawnandco.com.au/melbourne/cocktailbar
Thank you!

I recently made myself a Last Word with St. Germain in place of Moraschino. Turned out nicely.
Interesting, will try!
Haymans gin 👍
haha, nice clickbait title
(cheers btw)

lethal stuff :-)
Where did you drink cocktails in Boston?
(I almost don't want to know, so that I can go on imagining that we were at the same bars that don't exist now.)
